What do Mac Barnett, Adam Rex, and Christian Robinson have in common? They all create fun, smart picture books AND they have all worked together! Their collaborations include School's First Day of School, Leo: A Ghost Story, Chloe and the Lion, and How This Book Was Made.


Mac Barnett


Mac Barnett is the New York Times best-selling author of more than 20 books for children, including Count the Monkeys, illustrated by Kevin Cornell; Chloe and the Lion, illustrated by Adam Rex; and Extra Yarn and Sam & Dave Dig a Hole, both illustrated by Jon Klassen, and both winners of a Caldecott Honor and the E.B. White Read Aloud Award. He also writes the Terrible Two series with Jory John. Mac lives in Berkeley, CA.

Adam Rex


Adam Rex has written several books for young readers, including the New York Times bestselling Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich and The True Meaning of Smekday. His first day of school was at Lookout Mountain Elementary in Phoenix, AZ. He lives now with his wife and son in Tucson, AZ.
