University of Georgia graduate and Atlanta native Caroline Edwards has been selected as the winner of the 2014 BookLogix/AJC Decatur Book Festival Writers Contest. Edwards’s story, Master of Storms, will be published by Alpharetta publisher BookLogix.
Caroline is a Social Media Specialist by day and an avid fantasy fiction reader/writer by night. She received her BA in Public Relations at UGA’s Grady School of Journalism, where she would write stories about the people around her, never to be shared until now. Born and raised in Atlanta, Caroline resides there currently with a wild rescue golden retriever named Amos and belongs to a great number of fandoms.
“I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write all my ideas down and to be able to see my book get published,” Caroline said about her win. “This is such an honor, and I am looking forward to working with BookLogix on this project!”
Master of Storms tells the story of a time after a great fleeing of elves from the Earth, where hybrid children of humans and elves find themselves in possession of both natural power and human frailty. Thus, the Age of Mages was born.
“Our team at BookLogix is excited to publish Master of Storms and help Caroline to finally share this story with the world. Our judges had a difficult time choosing a winner, but in the end, Caroline’s tale stood out above the rest,”
The 2014 BookLogix/AJC Decatur Book Festival Writers Contest accepted submissions from all genres, from writers ages 18 and up. The contest is part of the annual AJC Decatur Book Festival, held this year from August 29–31, 2014, in downtown Decatur.
“Who doesn’t love a great fantasy story? Caroline has tapped into one of the least explored aspects of our fantasy mythology, and I’m really looking forward to reading the final book. Congrats to Caroline, and congrats to the BookLogix team for finding a home run title”
Master of Storms will be Caroline’s first published book and is slated for release in Fall 2015.
