Getting Here

We can't wait to see you at the AJC Decatur Book Festival. Whether you walk, bike, take the train or bus, or drive, getting to Decatur is easy. Information on transportation, parking (we have a free bike valet!) and hotels follows the map below.

Directions

MARTA

MARTA is a convenient and affordable way to get to DBF: MARTA’s Decatur Station is at the very center of the festival. Take the Blue Line train to the Decatur Station (E-6), exit, and you’re here! If traveling by MARTA’s bus system, find the best route at itsmarta.com. MARTA’s Decatur Bus Station is also right in the heart of DBF.

Driving

Note that some city streets will be closed from 3 pm on Friday, September 1 (for set up) through Sunday evening, September 3. Street closings are indicated on the DBF Festival Map.

From I-285:

Take Stone Mountain Freeway (US 78) west (Exit 39A). About 1/2 mile after the divided highway ends and becomes Scott Boulevard, bear left onto Church Street. Continue on Church Street about two miles to downtown Decatur. Parking is available at the corner of Commerce Street (on the left just before 547 Church Street), in the deck at 546 Church Street, and at 320 Church Street.

From I-85:

Get off at Clairmont Road Exit (91) and go south on Clairmont about 4-1/4 miles. Turn right onto Commerce Drive. Parking is available at 1179 Commerce Drive (The Artisan building on the left), and at the DeKalb County Courthouse Deck at the corner of Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place (take a left onto West Trinity Place to enter the deck).

From Midtown & Virginia–Highland:

Take Ponce de Leon Avenue east to downtown Decatur. Turn left on Commerce Drive to park at 1081 Commerce Drive or 1179 Commerce Drive (The Artisan building), both on the right. Turn right on Commerce Drive to park at the DeKalb County Courthouse Deck at the corner of Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place (take a left onto West Trinity Place to enter the deck).

From Downtown Atlanta:

Take DeKalb Avenue east to downtown Decatur (DeKalb Avenue becomes Howard in Decatur). Turn left on McDonough Street at Decatur High School. Turn left again onto West Trinity Place to park at the DeKalb County Courthouse Deck at the corner of Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place (entrance on West Trinity Place on the right).

PARKING

Enjoy free and secure bike parking provided by the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and the City of Decatur. Find the free bike valet on North McDonough, in front of the DeKalb County Courthouse.

Downtown Decatur parking is plentiful, convenient and affordable. The DBF Festival Map indicates several locations. Parking deck and lot addresses, hours and rates can be found at decaturga.com (click Visitors then Parking). Do not park in lots posted as 'no parking.' Your car will be booted or towed.

HOTELS

There are several hotels convenient to the AJC Decatur Book Festival. The Courtyard by Marriott at 130 Clairemont Avenue is our host hotel and the site of four of our stages. The Emory Conference Center Hotel is nearby at 1615 Clifton Road, Atlanta. You can find more options at DeKalb County's lodging search engine.
