Sonia Sotomayor Presents Just Ask! Be Different, Be Brave, Be You
The Sonia Sotomayor event SOLD OUT less than 10 minutes after we made tickets available online. We are not offering a wait list and do not anticipate that extra tickets will become available. Thank you for your incredible support of this and other Decatur Book Festival programs.
There is no cost to attend the book event, but a ticket is required. Please do not show up and attempt to enter the event without your Eventbrite ticket or you will be disappointed. Those wishing to enter the book signing line at the event's conclusion must have a copy of Just Ask! or the Spanish edition, “¡Solo pregunta!” Pre-orders for this event are no longer being taken. Ticket holders can purchase books at the event.
Children’s programming will culminate in a special SOLD OUT event on Sunday, Sept. 1, with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor at Agnes Scott College’s Gaines Chapel at Presser Hall. Sotomayor, who in 2009 became the first Latina Associate Justice, will share her new children’s picture book, Just Ask! Be Different, Be Brave, Be You, illustrated by award-winning artist Rafael López. In Just Ask!, Sonia Sotomayor shares her experience as a child who, after being diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, felt different from other kids. She encourages readers to “Just Ask” when they encounter someone who seems different from themselves.
