Dr. Lee Alan Dugatkin is a biologist and historian of science in the department of biology at the University of Louisville. He is the author of more than 150 papers and numerous books, including Mr. Jefferson and the Giant Moose: Natural History in Early America (University of Chicago Press) and The Altruism Equation: Seven Scientists Search for the Origins of Goodness (Princeton University Press). Dr. Dugatkin has said that working with Lyudmila Trut on How to Tame a Fox (and Build a Dog) (University of Chicago Press); going to Siberia on numerous occasions to spend time with Lyudmila and the team working on the fox experiment; and interacting with those gentle, lovable, domesticated foxes will remain with him for as long as he lives.
