Roger Newman, M.D. is a nationally known leader in Ob-Gyn. He is the Maas Endowed Chair for Reproductive Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Newman is considered an expert on the care of women with twins, triplets or higher order gestations and has co-authored along with Dr. Barbara Luke and Tamara Eberlein the 4th edition of the award-winning book When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads. What Becomes, the third in a series, follows Occam’s Razor and Two Drifters and continues to chronicle the troubles that follow his character of Dr. Declan Murphy- literature’s only obstetrical action hero. Roger Newman is married and has three children. He and his wife, Diane, have lived in Charleston for the past 30 years following completion of his Ob-Gyn and Maternal-Fetal Medicine training at MUSC and the University of California, San Francisco. Besides his medical writing and his late blooming love for writing medical thrillers, Dr. Newman is passionate about sports and his other "job" is coaching the Women's Varsity basketball team (Raptors) at the Academic Magnet High School and rooting for the Seton Hall Pirates.
