Join us for a reading by students of different genres from Agnes Scott College’s writing program. The reading will be held on Saturday, October 5th at 10:00 AM on the Emerging Student Writer’s Stage in The Reading Room.
This session is sponsored by Aurora Literary Arts Magazine at Agnes Scott College. The Aurora Literary Arts Magazine is one of Agnes Scott College’s longest running publications, with a total of 122 issues as of Fall 2024. The Aurora is completely student-run, and works to compile prose, poetry, playwriting, and visual art created by undergraduate students in a magazine published once every Spring semester.
Emerging Student Writers
Oliver Fahlen is a junior at Agnes Scott College, majoring in psychology and minoring in english. He has been writing since 3rd grade, and particularly loves the horror comedy genre. His hobbies include staring at a blank google doc and rewatching Twilight (2009) dir. Catherine Hardwicke.
Brynn Johnson (she/they) is a junior at Agnes Scott College majoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She first started writing at age eleven, and completed her first full-length work four years later. She likes to write fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, and particularly enjoys genre fiction and memoirs. She also has passions for music, baking, and theater.
Joy Thomas is a sophomore English and Creative Writing major at Agnes Scott. In high school, they wrote mainly in their free-time as an emotional outlet, but since finishing their first year of college, Joy has written a multi-genre portfolio in their first Creative Writing course; joined Agnes’ poetry club, Calliope; and published “Magnet Tattoos” in the Aurora.
