Civil Resistance with Alix Olson & Sunaura Taylor

Time: 3:00 – 3:45 PM

Location: The City of Decatur Stage 2, Swanton Amphitheatre, in the Decatur Conference Center of the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, 130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA, 30030

A powerful analysis of a Tucson, Arizona desert and the call to action that reveals disability as one of the defining features of environmental devastation and resistance. A clear-eyed critical account of what it means to “resist” in the present day, exploring how marginalized voices and social movements deepen our thinking for confronting power.

Authors Alix Olson and Sunaura Taylor push us to think critically through the written word and speak to how civil resistance has emerged as a mainstay of the human experience. The panel discussion will be held Saturday, October 5th at 3:00 PM on the City of Decatur Stage 2, Swanton Amphitheatre, in the Decatur Conference Center of the Marriott Courtyard Hotel. Following the panel, authors will proceed to signing tables to autograph books.

Purchase your book from Charis Books via this link, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the festival.
