Atlanta – August 19, 2019 – Kids interested in seeing U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor when she visits Decatur in a couple of weeks should “Just Ask” adults to mark their calendars for tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 20. That’s when tickets go on sale, beginning at 10 a.m., for Sotomayor’s appearance at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Decatur Book Festival presented by Emory University (DBF).
There is no cost to attend the book event, which will take place Sunday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m., at Agnes Scott College’s Gaines Chapel at Presser Hall. However, a ticket is required. Tickets will be available via this Eventbrite website (http://bit.ly/2HaS77c) and are expected to sell out.
Attendees may reserve a maximum of four (4) tickets per family. Those wishing to enter the book signing line after the event on Sept. 1 must have a copy of “Just Ask!” or the Spanish edition, “¡Solo pregunta!” Books will be available for purchase that day or can be pre-ordered at Little Shop of Stories.
Sotomayor, who in 2009 became the first Latina Associate Justice, will share her new children’s picture book, “Just Ask! Be Different, Be Brave, Be You,” illustrated by award-winning artist Rafael López. In “Just Ask!,” Sonia Sotomayor shares her experience as a child who, after being diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, felt different from other kids. She encourages readers to “Just Ask” when they encounter someone who seems different from themselves.
Tickets to all DBF events offer general admission seating, and demand usually exceeds available tickets. Attendees are encouraged to order tickets as soon as possible. For more details and to view a list of all DBF Special Events, visit this page of the DBF website.
