Let’s Reimagine the Decatur Book Festival

We’d love to hear your thoughts about how the AJC Decatur Book Festival might reinvent itself during the COVID months and then later when we bring back the physical festival.

While COVID has suspended large gatherings, how could the DBF be helpful to you? Do you have a school-age child who would enjoy book-related programming this summer? Does your child have a favorite author we could invite to participate in virtual programming? An older relative who would enjoy virtual author talks and thematic tracks? If so, who are the authors and what are some of the topics that might be most interesting?

We are trying to think of ways to combine virtual programming and regular, analog living to create as much of a festival experience as we can. One idea is to partner with local restaurants to provide take-out connected to a chef-author talk. How else could we do this?

When we are able to bring back the physical book festival, what’s most important, or least, for us to focus on?
