Our day-long, 2021 event kicked off with James Davis May, 2021 NEA Fellow in Creative Writing, reading one of his latest poems, “Puffins.” May has been curating the festival’s poetry lineup since 2013 and on the programming committee since 2009. He lives in Macon, Ga., where he directs the creative writing program at Mercer University.
